Welcome to The Weight Race!

My name is Summer LaBrie and I created The Weight Race.  Of the many things I love in life, two of them happen to be food and rewards.  The problem is, too much food doesn’t bring any rewards.  That is, unless you count shortness of breath, diabetes, tiredness, lethargy and similar problems as rewards.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t exactly think of bad eating habits and weight gain as the gifts that keep on giving.

It seems like I have been on one diet or another my whole life.  I have overcome a lot in my life, having been through divorce, cancer and other major problems.  Yet the one thing I have never conquered is my weight.  I have spent a lot of time searching the internet for advice and tips, my searches led to many sites that all look and say the same thing.  They all basically said “Eat less and exercise more!”  Really?  No kidding?  From this, I had The Weight Race epiphany!    I realized that like me, most people already know what they are supposed to be doing to lose weight.   Most of us don’t need websites for that.  What we do need is a big boost in the motivation department.

I’ve fine-tuned what was a vague idea of rewarding weight loss into The Weight Race.  Now, when you lose weight and make healthy food choices, you earn badges and you can enter contests to win real prizes.  Our motto is, “Win When You Lose!”  It’s about time we all got rewarded for our efforts!
